"Sow now, reap later"
That would be a better quotation for our English 2 class where we are required to do a lot of writing activities. And one of this writing stuffs is the term paper. in fact, we already started to find several references in our individual topics.
Though I had an experience with this term paper writing in high school, I would say that it was not good enough. Ma'am Lynnie proved me a lot of things. First, a term paper should not be a "work of quotations." I mean, we should cite quotations appropriately. unlike to my high school paper where I Frequently quoted words from my sources. Second, it should be specific. What happened to my term paper then was a great mess. It was so broad that I need to search and encode overnight in the internet cafe. And I did it weekly!
And now, we are making individual term papers, which is related to our course. This thing would help us greatly for our future academic works. As an education student, where I am required with so many writing stuffs these info's from ma'am wuold help me. I would say that this term paper activity, is a healthy seed we sowed and we will reap its usefulness in future needs.

Behind the 2010 Automated Election- (Reaction Blog)
The 2010 Presidential election is fast approaching. Yet, like the unending troubles that are happening in our society, the issue regarding the automation of this incoming election is not yet perfectly settled. Though our government thrust effort to realize this project and do it smoothly, there are still lot of doubts and fears raised by those concerned citizens. Yes, we concede to the fact, that our government, especially COMELEC, exerted effort for this project. However, the issue is, "Is their effort enough?" As what we had learned from the news that the COMELEC postponed and move dates regarding on this automated election for they do have a short time frame to settle all those things. And to have a wider view about this, let me enumerate some issues on this computer- based election.
Late Approval
The 2010 automation project was stranded in the middle of the highway. Why? As Dick Gordon stated on an interview, the said proposal was then approved late by the legislative department! As a result, the COMELEC had a shorter time to organize every detail of the automation and giving way for more complications.
Technicalities
The Smartmatics, Corp., as the official partner of our government, will be held responsible for the system of the election and as well the computers needed. Yet, there was another issue that the computers required for the aitomated election will not be produced in the time it will be needed.
Voters and Teachers Education
As usual, our dear teachers will then be the "angels of our ballot" during this 2010 election. Yet, there where not enough timefor them to be trained on how to handle all those computer stuffs. As what the leader of the national federation for teachers had said that they need more time for their trainings, however, the COMELEC denied them the chance for lack of time. As a result, their would be no formal educatrion for all the voters on how to do this computer- based election.
Credibility
Lastly, the credibility of the government, specifically COMELEC, to hold this election is being questioned. Juan dela Cruz, our dear Filipino compatriot, don't want to hear another "I am sorry" story.
I am not prognosticating negative results nor underestimating the capabilty of our government. My point is, "Is it the right time?" If it is, then we should be bold enough to make a difference. Do what you preach....... Ako ang Simula! Ito ang Simula ng Pagbabago!

It's Time To Blog!
I was really intrigued by this blog assigments in our English 2. At first, I'm reluctant in the way that Ma'am Lynnie gives her task to us. It's kinda like giving us a lot of mess to clean up! Not to mention the other activities she gave into us.
Yet, I found it later that it's very interesting to have a blog account! It opens another avenue for me to explore and acquire more knowledge with regards to computer literacy. As what she always saying, " Since we are in the institute which is reknowed for it's excellence in science and technology, we must practise it."
Furthermore, while doing the task where we are required to comment on the articles written by our classmates, I was a little bit shocked when I found out that they made a long write ups! In my blog, I do really made short write ups not because I can't write long ones, but rather I'm not that good in typing. I do have a hard time in encoding because I'm a slow- phased encoder. However, I vowed to myself, that next time I will write longer and more creative write ups compared to my early accounts.

Lawis Natural Springs-Descriptive Writing

Just a couple of kilometers away from the city proper of lligan City lies the splendid waters of the Lawis. Located between the secluded part of Brgy. Buru-un, the Lawis Natural Springs offers a refreshing vacation and unforgettable memories for the whole family. For those nature lovers and adventurers you would really fall n ;ove with the place. You wil need to have a little mountain trekking to go the location of the springs. It was really breath-taking to see the whole seascape of Iligan City while you are on the top of a mountain. Upon reaching the place, you will be captivated by the inviting crystal- clear waters from the stream. The sparkling waters of the stream is definitely cold and refreshing to the body. Lawis Natural Springs is accommodated with more or less twenty wooden-built cottages with one videoke haus. With the exquisite glamor of the place , you would never forget it.

OBEY BEFORE YOU COMPLAIN
I can't deny the fact that some of my English 2 classmates, even I, considered these blog assignments as additional burden to us students. However, last January 8, 2010, Ma'am Lynnie emphasizes the advantages of this assigned task. She pointedly encourages us to have our blog accounts not only for academic purposes but as well as to develop our own skill in more effective way. traditional writing, though good, is already outdated to the latest trend of the more sophisticated society. And so we must cope up from that. it is for our own benefit so we should be thankful rather than to be ungrateful.
